Partnering together, the foremost American cryptocurrency trading platform, Coinbase, and Perplexity – an AI query solution backed by Nvidia – are collaborating. This partnership aims to deliver reliable, up-to-date crypto market data and insights directly to traders via Perplexity’s service.
On July 10, 2025, Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong unveiled a partnership that was formed when Perplexity AI introduced their AI-powered browser named Comet to the public.
As a proactive AI aid, Comet empowers users by providing them with essential data and information for informed decision-making. It seamlessly integrates with Coinbase to deliver real-time actionable insights to traders, enabling them to capitalize on opportunities more effectively.
“The first stage is going live today, and there’s more to come,” Armstrong wrote on X.
Perplexity AI to tap into COIN50
According to the CEO of Coinbase, the initial stage of integration involves Perplexity gathering the crypto exchange’s market data, which will then be utilized for conducting market analysis.
As per Armstrong’s announcement, Perplexity is planned to utilize market information like the Coinbase 50 Index, a tracking tool for the top 50 most significant and fluid digital assets based on their market capitalization.
Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH) and Solana (SOL) are among the key components of COIN50.
The partnership emerges due to an increase in user inquiries about cryptocurrencies on Perplexity’s platform, which has reached levels comparable to those observed for stocks. Armstrong observes that this data underscores the growing mainstream acceptance of digital currencies.
In the upcoming second phase of integration, we anticipate launching shortly, Perplexity AI will utilize Coinbase’s market data to deliver insights to users. These insights can aid traders in various ways, including tracking market trends, discovering potential trading opportunities, and analyzing specific movements in tokens.
The platform will offer these via an AI-powered web browser.
Armstrong stated, “I believe that advanced cryptocurrency features could serve as a significant catalyst for artificial intelligence to reach another 10 times its current potential. What I’m particularly eager to witness is the full integration of crypto wallets into Language Learning Models (LLMs) in the future. This would be a significant leap toward a borderless, digital economy.
