Coinbase’s Solana Support: A Tale of Frustration and Promise

Once upon a time, in the land of crypto, Coinbase users found themselves in a pickle. They were experiencing delays in landing transactions on the Solana network. Oh, the horror!

But fear not, for Brian Armstrong, the big cheese of Coinbase, has heard the cries of his users. He vowed to scale up support for Solana, making everyone’s crypto dreams come true. Well, almost everyone’s.

It all started when Solana users reportedly had a hard time landing transactions from Coinbase. And with the Trump and Melania Meme memecoin craze, the traffic became unbearable. U.S.-based traders on Coinbase faced massive delays in accessing and landing transactions on Solana. One user even reported a “4-year waiting period” to swap funds from Coinbase to Solana. Yikes!

But Mert Mumtaz, the CEO of Helius, a Solana-based developer platform, had some words of wisdom. He suggested that dissatisfied users should look for other alternatives to land Solana transactions. Ouch!

However, Brian Armstrong and Jesse Pollak, the leaders of Coinbase, acknowledged the issue and pledged to scale their Solana support. Armstrong said, “It’s clear we need to step up our game on Solana, scale our infrastructure, and provide native support for common use cases like DEX/memecoin trading.” Pollak echoed the same, stating, “Entire executive team, myself included, and huge swaths of the company are working around the clock right now to scale Coinbase to better support Solana.”

So, there you have it! Coinbase is working hard to improve their Solana support. But, as with all things in the land of crypto, only time will tell if they’ll be able to keep their promise.
