Coldplay Concert Scandal: Kristin Cabot Says Estranged Ex Was at Show

Kristin Cabot is sharing new details about her infamous Coldplay concert outing.

The ex-Astronomer employee discovered her soon-to-be ex-husband, Andrew Cabot, was at the same concert as her just before the band went on stage. This happened while she was photographed hugging her boss, Andy Byron, during the July show.

Kristin shared with Oprah Winfrey on her podcast that she received a message from her daughter while heading into a Coldplay concert. The message revealed that Kristin’s estranged husband was also in attendance. ‘It’s so great that you and Andrew are both at Coldplay,’ her daughter had texted.

At that point, the 53-year-old considered how a hypothetical run-in with Andrew might unfold.

I wondered if it would be awkward if I bumped into him while I was with Andy,” she said. “But then I realized I was at Gillette Stadium with 55,000 other people, so the chances of that happening were pretty slim.

Kristin added, “That would’ve been better, at the end of the day, if I’d just run into him.”

A video of her and Andy—who had recently quit his job at Astronomer after the video started spreading—cuddling on the big screen at the band’s Boston concert has gone viral. According to an HR executive, it captured their first time being physically affectionate with each other.

Let me tell you, I totally get how powerful a connection can be! This guy… I was really falling for him, and thankfully, the feeling was reciprocated. It was just such a wonderful time. I was going through a tough patch, newly separated, and honestly, getting that positive attention and affection from someone amazing felt so good. It was a real boost, and it just felt… right.

TopMob News has reached out to Andy’s rep for comment but has not heard back.

Andrew, the CEO of Privateer Rum, officially filed for divorce from Kristin in August. He later shared that they had separated privately and on good terms several weeks before they attended a Coldplay concert together.

According to his spokesperson in September, the decision to divorce was already in progress before that evening. With the divorce now public, Andrew hopes it will end the speculation respectfully and give his family the privacy they deserve.

During their July 15th concert at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, Coldplay’s Chris Martin noticed a couple on the jumbotron who appeared to embrace as soon as they realized they were on the big screen.

Before the show began, Martin explained to the audience that they would be using the cameras to find people in the crowd. He said they’d be looking at the screens to spot fans and say hello. One of the first people they found was a young man who was surprised and delighted by a spontaneous birthday message from Martin.

The singer noticed the couple and commented, “Look at these two.” As the camera focused on them, the man quickly lowered his head, and the woman turned away, covering her face with her hands.

Martin joked, “They’re either secretly seeing each other, or they’re just incredibly reserved.” He admitted he didn’t know how to handle the situation.

After the woman walked away, weaving through the crowd, the singer exclaimed, “Oh no! I hope we didn’t mess something up.”

A concertgoer named Grace Springer caught the moment on video, and online detectives quickly figured out the two people involved were Andy Byron, the CEO of Astronomer, and Kristin Cabot, the company’s Chief People Officer. Social media users also discovered that both Byron and Cabot are married to others.

Almost immediately after, Martin turned to a new couple appearing on the screen and asked, “So, are you two actually a couple? Are you dating?”

Byron and Cabot, who used to work together, recently attended a Coldplay concert and quickly became a trending topic online. So far, neither of them has addressed the situation publicly. A supposed apology from Byron that appeared online was confirmed to be fake by the website Astronomer.

Byron led Astronomer, a data operations company often mistaken for a space-related business, while Cabot managed the company’s human resources department.

Astronomer confirmed July 24 to NBC News that Cabot had resigned.

Both individuals have removed their LinkedIn profiles, and reports indicate Byron’s wife deleted her Instagram and Facebook accounts as well. They are parents to two sons.

According to several reports, Cabot is no longer on good terms with Andrew Cabot, the CEO of Privateer Rum. Andrew is a direct descendant – the sixth generation – of the original rum distiller who lived during the American Revolution. The Boston Globe reports that Andrew left a tech career to start the spirits company in 2011.

Kristin filed for divorce from Andrew on August 13th, according to court documents obtained by NBC News. However, a spokesperson for Andrew told People magazine that they had separated privately and amicably several weeks prior to a Coldplay concert. The couple do not have any children together, but Andrew has two children from a previous relationship.

As a lifestyle expert, I’m always looking for tools that simplify things, and I recently discovered Astro by Astronomer. Basically, it’s a platform that helps teams create and manage their data processes – everything from building them to keeping them running smoothly – all in one central location. It’s all about making data workflows reliable and easy to handle, which is a huge win in my book!

Founded in 2018 in Cincinnati, Ohio, the company also maintains offices in San Francisco and San Jose, California.

Byron joined the company as CEO in 2023 and Cabot came onboard in 2024.

As a lifestyle expert, I’m always keeping an eye on innovative companies, and Astronomer recently made some exciting moves! They just secured $93 million in funding back in May 2025, with Bain Capital Ventures leading the round. The team at Astronomer shared that this isn’t just about the money, though – it’s a major step towards building a really solid, long-term software company, and I’m excited to see what they do next.

The funding raised the firm’s valuation to $740 million, according to the Economic Times.

In a statement released on July 18th, Astronomer announced that its board of directors had begun a formal investigation into the situation and confirmed that a statement falsely attributed to Byron was not authentic.

The firm stated it remains dedicated to the principles and work environment that have defined it since the beginning. It also expects its leaders to demonstrate the highest levels of integrity and take responsibility for their actions.

The statement also clarified that, besides the two people involved, no one else appearing in the jumbotron video was an employee of Astronomer. The company also confirmed to the Associated Press that Cabot was the woman seen with Byron in the video.

As of July 18th, Byron was on leave. Pete DeJoy, a co-founder and the Chief Product Officer, was appointed interim CEO, but then resigned from that role the following day.

Andy Byron has resigned, and the Board of Directors has approved his decision, according to a statement to TopMob News. The Board will now begin looking for a new Chief Executive, while DeJoy will continue in his current, expanded position.

In a recent LinkedIn post, Astronomer’s CEO noted the company has received an extraordinary amount of media attention over the past few days – something very few startups, especially in the data and AI space, experience. He described the sudden spotlight as strange and unexpected, but acknowledged that it has quickly made Astronomer well-known.

Martin couldn’t even begin to try to fix what happened, but he’s had some fun with it since.

At Coldplay’s first concert since recent controversy, lead singer Chris Martin reminded the audience at Camp Randall Stadium in Madison, Wisconsin, that some fans might appear on the venue’s large screens.

“So please,” Martin said, “if you haven’t done your makeup, do your makeup now.”
