Cole Tucker Offers Rare Details About His Kids With Vanessa Hudgens

Cole Tucker is hitting dad duty right out of the park.

The retired baseball player, who has two children with his wife Vanessa Hudgens, recently shared some personal details about his family. He also revealed that their youngest child, born in November, is a baby boy.

Cole, 29, recently announced he and his partner now have two children. Speaking on the Baseball Isn’t Boring podcast on January 14th, he shared that his kids are currently 7 weeks and a year and a half old.

He quipped, “I’m in the fight.”

Cole shared that the couple—who haven’t revealed their children’s names—have one son and one daughter, confirming their second child is a girl.

Does Cole hope his son, born in July 2024, will follow in his footsteps and become a professional athlete? Not really – he simply wants his son to be happy.

The athlete said they want their son to pursue his own interests, but they also want to give him lots of different experiences. Their son, who was born last July 1st, is already showing a talent for music – he plays drums, piano, and guitar – and he also enjoys playing baseball.

Oh my gosh, watching him is just amazing! He’ll tee off, then he’s swinging those golf clubs, and then – get this – he’s shooting hoops! Seriously, he’s so into basketball. We just want to let him explore everything he’s interested in and support him with whatever he decides he loves. It’s just the cutest thing ever!

My wife and I achieved careers that many people thought were impossible, so we try to keep an open mind about everything. We want to support our children in whatever they choose and love them unconditionally. I especially don’t want my son to feel any pressure to follow in my footsteps as a baseball player.

Although their son isn’t expected to become a professional baseball player, Cole hopes he’ll play the sport growing up.

The father of two believes baseball is valuable for kids, helping them learn about themselves, life lessons, and teamwork. He’s eager for his son to experience these benefits, and his wife is thrilled to be the team’s mom for T-ball.

Cole said he didn’t want his son to feel obligated to follow in his footsteps and reach the major leagues. He worried about the pressure and stress that would create, but added that he was happy to support his son’s baseball aspirations if that’s what he wanted.

Vanessa Hudgens and Cole Tucker first publicly shared a photo together on Instagram for Valentine’s Day in 2021. This came after rumors began circulating three months earlier when they were seen on a romantic date in Los Angeles. Hudgens captioned the photo with a sweet message: “It’s you, it’s me, it’s us. @cotuck.”

The couple first appeared together on the red carpet at the premiere of Vanessa’s musical during the 2021 AFI Fest in Hollywood, California.

The two also attended the premiere of the Netflix movie in New York City.

“Happy vday from us crazies,” Vanessa captioned this Instagram pic.

They saw John Mayer perform at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles as part of the SiriusXM and Pandora Small Stage Series.

The pair walked the carpet at the 28th Screen Actors Guild Awards in Santa Monica, Calif.

In 2022, on MLB opening day, Vanessa shared an Instagram post celebrating her partner, then a player for the Pittsburgh Pirates, writing, ‘Happy opening day my [king].’

The actress was seen at the baseball field with her partner, who plans to retire in May 2025.

Vanessa and Cole announced their engagement on February 9th with a photo showcasing Vanessa’s new engagement ring. Their Instagram post simply read, “YES,” and added that they were overjoyed.

Vanessa playfully suggested running away to get married after struggling with wedding plans. Appearing on The Drew Barrymore Show, she confessed, “It’s so hard to find a place! I’m honestly starting to think eloping would be easier. I feel completely overwhelmed.”

The wedding took place on December 2, 2023, in Tulum, Mexico. Around 100 guests, including family and close friends, celebrated with the couple. Notable attendees included bridesmaids Sarah Hyland and Alexandra Shipp, as well as Vanessa’s former High School Musical co-stars, Monique Coleman and Lucas Grabeel.

Cole marked Vanessa’s first birthday since their marriage with a sweet message, simply writing, “Happy birthday to my wife!!!!!!”

Vanessa revealed she was expecting a baby at the 2024 Oscars, proudly displaying her growing belly in a black Vera Wang gown.
