The development company Potato Kid, along with publisher Acclaim, has revealed plans for the high-speed, combative roguelike game titled Talaka. This game is slated for release on various consoles and PC via Steam, though specific platforms have not been detailed as of yet. The expected launch date is set for 2026.
Here is an overview of the game, via Acclaim:
About
Talaka” is an energetic game with a focus on combat, set in a vibrant, hand-drawn world that breathes life into Afro-Brazilian mythology. You take on the role of a young warrior who used to believe in the old tales about Orisha gods, magical beings, and ancient lands. However, over time, these stories seemed to disappear from people’s memories. Now, as they begin to unravel, they are causing turmoil, disrupting the balance between realms.
From now on, travel through surreal environments, rekindle connections with celestial energies, and find out why legends have started behaving abnormally. With Orisha accompanying you, battle to bring equilibrium back, or the tales will be lost for good.
This version attempts to maintain the original’s vivid imagery, emotional impact, and action-packed tone while using simpler language that is easy to understand.
