Combat in online games like Blue Protocol: Star Resonance is always complex, with many different factors to consider. This guide covers everything you need to know about fighting in the game, whether you’re just starting out or are an experienced player.
Understanding Your Class
Every character class has three core abilities: a standard attack, a special attack, and a powerful ultimate move. Plus, you can customize your character with four additional skills. To equip these, simply go to the skill menu and choose the four you want to use during combat.
Class Roles
There are three class roles:
- Tank – Their purpose is to charge in and draw enemies into groups. Then it does big damage.
- DPS – Their purpose is to do damage to the enemy.
- Healer– They want to keep the team alive.
Knowing what each character class does is important both when you’re building your own team and when you’re fighting against others. It lets you understand their strengths and weaknesses and adjust your strategy accordingly.
Imagines
Imagines are essentially allies you call upon to help in combat. But more importantly, they provide stat boosts that improve your overall strength.
To get the most benefit, choose an Imagine that fits your class. Imagines ranked as purple tier or higher will also give you helpful stat boosts.
Class Resources
Every class in the game has its own dedicated resource, displayed as a bar above your skill bar.
When you look at the Skills section, each skill description will explain how it uses your resources. Think of resources as extra power for your abilities – you’ll use them up whenever you use those abilities.
Talents
As you work through the skill tree, you will see talents that consume your resources.
After completing the initial Expertise section, you’ll be able to choose a subspecialty, which will give you access to even more focused skills.
Understanding how your abilities work with the items and features available in your class will be key to success as you progress in the game.
Power of Unity
The Power of Unity is a team bonus that activates when you have players fulfilling all three roles. When active, it increases everyone’s damage output by 25%. This perk rewards players for creating balanced teams.
Dungeon Play
It’s best to send your tank into combat first. They’ll quickly gather the enemies together, allowing your team to use area-of-effect attacks and defeat them more efficiently.
Okay, so in this game, when I see red circles, it usually means trouble – like an attack is heading my way. But just running isn’t always the answer! I’ve learned that each type of red circle signals something different, and figuring out *how* to react is key to surviving. It’s all about learning what they mean and responding smartly.
Soak
Soaking refers to the tactic of grouping together in a targeted area during an attack. This spreads the damage across everyone in the group, indicated by a red circle with arrows pointing inwards.
Healing
When your health gets low during a fight, check the bottom right of your screen to find your usable items. The Healing Aromatic is the standard item you’ll use to restore your health.
The heal-over-time foods are also very good if you are playing without a healer.
Reading the Boss
Figuring out a boss’s attacks can be tough, but there are clues to help. Pay attention to the bar next to the boss’s health – it shows you what attack is coming next and how long you have to react. Watching this indicator should be a priority throughout the fight.
Mechs
Battles in the game will occasionally require unique strategies. You’ll often receive clues during combat to help you figure them out – like knowing when to use a teleporter to dodge an attack.
Every fight is unique, but simply listen to the game’s cues and do what it asks.
Perfect Dodge and Phantom Dash
Perfect Dodging means timing your dodge so it happens right as an enemy attacks. This avoids all damage, but remember it uses up your stamina, so don’t overdo it!
Once you reach the summit of the mountain in Terra Resonance, you’ll unlock Phantom Dash. This ability lets you move rapidly during battles, and it will be incredibly useful when facing tougher enemies.
Markers
As the team leader, you can designate specific areas on the field to guide your teammates’ positioning. This is helpful for showing them where you want everyone to go and for organizing them into groups.
Bane Lord
Bane Lord appears randomly in dungeon battles. It’s worth trying to defeat him whenever he does, because he always drops Legendary items. You can defeat him up to five times each week.
This guide covers everything you need to know about combat in Blue Protocol: Star Resonance. Mastering these basics will help you get the most out of your character and prepare you for any challenge the game presents.
