
Conan O’Brien has spoken publicly for the first time about the deaths of Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele. The couple was found dead at their home in Los Angeles on December 14th, and their son, Nick, has been charged with their murders. Following the news, many in Hollywood paid tribute to Reiner’s work as a director, actor, and activist. O’Brien has now shared his own sadness, saying he was “shocked” by the loss of his close friends, who he described as “lovely people.”
Just hours before Rob and Michele were tragically killed, they had been at a holiday party hosted by the O’Briens. The comedian and television host recently spoke to The New Yorker about the devastating event, sharing that he was deeply shocked and continues to struggle with understanding the loss.
I was good friends with Rob and Michele, and we spent a lot of time together, my wife and I. It was such a shock when we found out they had passed away – I was stunned for a long time afterward. It’s just terrible. I often think about Rob’s passion for what was happening in the world and how dedicated he was, and it’s still difficult to accept that his voice is suddenly gone.
