Confusing Star Wars Prequel Plot Point Still Baffles Fans

Fans of Star Wars are renowned for their strong opinions, and they’ve been vocal about a specific plot point from one of the prequel films. The trilogy introduced characters like Anakin Skywalker, Padme Amidala, Mace Windu, and many more in a distant galaxy. The movie that sparked this discussion is “Star Wars: Attack of the Clones“, which showcased an intense fight on the planet Geonosis between the Jedi and Separatist forces. While there was much to ponder over in “Attack of the Clones“, it hasn’t deterred Star Wars fans from deeply examining a seemingly minor aspect that was previously overlooked.

A post on the Star Wars Reddit page queries, “What was the strategy of the Jedi at Geonosis?” The accompanying picture shows the Jedi as Separatist droids encircle them. It’s unclear what aspect of the plan the Redditor is referring to, but there are a few plausible interpretations. Perhaps it concerns their intended actions after being vastly outnumbered in battle or their plans following their arrival on Geonosis. The Jedi certainly didn’t anticipate encountering such a massive droid force upon their arrival.

1) Some individuals have shared their opinions on what the Jedi might have intended to do on Geonosis. One post suggests that their strategy may have been something like, “We’ll send a massive number of Jedi all at once, and hopefully, everything will somehow work itself out.” Another theory posits, “They aimed to storm the battlefield, rescue the prisoners, capture the separatist leadership. The conflict would end in just 20 minutes if everything goes perfectly, with no one escaping and no one using their enormous army of destructive robots, even at the risk of hostages.

As a dedicated cinephile, I’ll tell you this: Mace Windu held his ground against the Separatist leaders, unwilling to yield even when the odds seemed insurmountable. It was only due to Yoda’s timely arrival with the clone army that they managed to survive. A fellow moviegoer on Reddit put it quite well: “The main plot point of the film was the Jedi being blindsided by the overwhelming numbers of the droid army. That’s why, at a crucial moment, the conveniently-timed clone army (made specifically for them) made its entrance.

If we’re not referring to the exact situation depicted in the image, it happened long after they had bitten off more than they could chew. At that point, their immediate strategy was a last-stand battle since Mace rejected surrender. It’s possible some of them might have given up eventually, but others may not.
