Blue Backpack, an independent publisher, is excited to share that their upcoming indie games, *Constance* and *The Berlin Apartment*, will be featured at Tokyo Game Show 2025, from September 25th to 28th. This is thanks to a new partnership with Asian publisher PARCO GAMES, and will be the first time these games are shown at Japan’s biggest gaming event. You can find them at the PARCO GAMES booth.
Both *The Berlin Apartment* and *Constance* are coming soon! *The Berlin Apartment* will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One on November 17, 2025. *Constance* will launch on PC on November 24, 2025, and then on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch/Switch 2 sometime in 2026.
About Constance
Constance is a beautifully hand-drawn 2D adventure game in the style of a metroidvania. It features smooth platforming, exciting combat, and explores meaningful themes about creativity and mental wellbeing. As you play, you can turn into paint to move through the world in new ways, using special brush abilities. But be careful – using these powers too much can have negative consequences.
- Unlock new brush techniques, defeat enemies, solve intricate puzzles, and uncover Constance’s story.
- Experience a flow-state gameplay loop inspired by Hollow Knight and Celeste.
- Explore themes of balance, creativity, and self-discovery.
Critics are already taking notice:
- “We can easily imagine Constance taking over from Silksong without difficulty” –Gamekult
- “Constance is, so far, the best Hollow Knight-like game I’ve ever played” –GameSpot

About The Berlin Apartment
I’m really excited about *The Berlin Apartment*! It’s an adventure game told from my perspective, and the whole thing takes place inside just one apartment – but over a hundred years! You start as a handyman fixing up the place during the pandemic while looking after my daughter, and as I work, I start discovering the lives of all the people who lived there before. It’s all about finding little pieces of their stories – objects they left behind, memories, and learning about their personal lives. It sounds super immersive and emotional!
- Explore lives shaped by dreams, dangers, and defining moments across generations.
- Relics and artifacts become silent witnesses to stories of joy, struggle, and mystery.
- A deeply immersive blend of narrative exploration and historical reflection.
Critics highlight its unique premise:
- “Will pull you in and leave you wanting more” –PowerUp Gaming
- “The Berlin Apartment looks exciting” –Eurogamer Germany
