Remedy Entertainment, the studio behind visually impressive games like Alan Wake 2 and Control, is continuing that trend with their upcoming title, Control Resonant. This new game will utilize advanced technologies like Path Tracing – for incredibly realistic reflections, lighting, and shadows – and DLSS 4.5 to boost performance.
I just checked out the new trailer Nvidia dropped, and the visuals with DLSS Ray Reconstruction are seriously impressive! But what really got my attention was RTX Mega Geometry. Apparently, it lets them build all the stuff ray tracing needs – like, a hundred times faster than before! That means we could see games with way more detailed environments and smoother, more realistic graphics, all in real-time. It’s a big deal for making everything look amazing without killing your framerate.
Remedy previously used this technology in Alan Wake 2, successfully decreasing VRAM usage by 300 MB and improving frame rates by 5 to 20 percent. If the new game looks as good as Alan Wake 2, we’re excited to delve into the detailed world of Manhattan and see the full extent of its advanced graphics.
Remedy Entertainment is releasing Control Resonant later this year on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC. The game is a sequel to the original Control, set seven years later, but can also be enjoyed as a standalone experience. It’s currently in the alpha phase of development, with the team—Remedy’s largest gameplay team to date—targeting a smooth 60 frames per second on all platforms. A specific release date hasn’t been announced yet, but more information will be shared soon. You can find details about the different forms Dylan’s Aberrant can take on their website.
