Former Doctor Who star Mandip Gill and Rob James-Collier, known for Downton Abbey, lead the series as a detective duo. Gill plays DC Diane Fry, while James-Collier plays DC Ben Cooper, and their characters are an unlikely pair.
The first look at tonight’s premiere of Cooper & Fry reveals a lot of exciting drama, including a fast-paced chase scene.
The detectives are shown entering an abandoned house, dressed in protective suits, and beginning their search for evidence. However, the house may not be as empty as it appears.
They soon discover the house isn’t empty, finding signs of previous occupants while searching through cabinets and old papers.
James-Collier’s Cooper initially dismisses the noises as just the wind, but they quickly escalate from minor disturbances to loud scraping sounds.
Entering a peculiar bedroom decorated with bird feathers, they discover a picture revealing their suspect has a brother. Now, the question is, where could he be?
It was so crazy! Fry had just asked Cooper something when suddenly, this girl came running out of nowhere and dashed down the stairs. Fry took off after her, and she started running through the construction site, even knocking down a ladder to try and stop him from following! It was a total blur.
She lost Fry when she climbed over a large gate, leaving him watching her go. She briefly looked back, offering a small smile before running off again.

The TV series Cooper & Fry is adapted from the popular novels by Stephen Booth. It will consist of four feature-length episodes, each taking its story from a different book: Black Dog, Dying to Sin, Blind to the Bones, and Dancing with the Virgins.
The new series is set in the intriguing Peak District and follows detectives Ben Cooper, a friendly local, and Diane Fry, a more reserved newcomer, as they team up to solve a series of puzzling deaths.
The story shows them needing to collaborate to achieve their goals. As their lives become more connected, a special friendship develops, though it will face challenges along the way.
Cooper & Fry begins on Tuesday 18th November at 8pm on 5.
