Coronation Street airs horrifying discovery for Summer Spellman about villainous Theo in early ITVX release

Summer Spellman, played by Harriet Bibby, is getting closer to finding out who was responsible for the death of Billy Mayhew, played by Daniel Brocklebank, on Coronation Street.

After eleven years playing Billy on the ITV soap, actor Brocklebank’s time on the show ended in a January episode that crossed over with Emmerdale. His character died in a minibus crash while driving home from Debbie Webster’s (Sue Devaney) wedding.

As Theo Silverton (James Cartwright) tried to flee, he fastened his seatbelt and started the car, despite his abusive behavior.

At first, he felt terrible about what he’d done and bravely admitted his remorse while standing at Billy’s funeral. Unbeknownst to him, Carl Webster (Jonathan Howard) was overhearing everything from the next room!

After the funeral, Theo and Carl had a furious fight. Theo threatened Carl, warning him that if he ever told his husband, Todd Grimshaw, about what happened, he would suffer the same fate as Billy.

As the truth about Theo’s mistreatment of Todd comes to light, and with the consequences of that recent flash-forward episode looming, it looks like Theo is the one who should be fearing for his life!

On today’s show, Sarah Platt revealed to Summer and Christina Boyd that she’d had an uncomfortable run-in with Theo and Todd a few days prior.

Sarah unexpectedly appeared at Todd’s apartment, and he quickly disabled the doorbell camera so their son, Theo, wouldn’t see her come in. She had to hide in the bedroom when Theo came home earlier than expected, but he sensed something was wrong and eventually found her.

He told her he didn’t mind Todd’s friends visiting, but she clearly didn’t believe him.

Gary Windass (Mikey North) has cut ties with Theo and asked him to pick up his remaining tools from the building site.

Theo is moving to Belfast next week, bringing Todd with him, and Sarah knew she needed to intervene quickly. She unexpectedly met with Theo’s former wife, Danielle (Natalie Anderson), and immediately asked if he had ever been abusive towards her.

Danielle was extremely upset and started to leave the Bistro, but Todd and Theo stopped her. They were shocked by what Sarah had done, and Theo firmly told her to never reach out to his family again.

She felt terrible when Todd explained that she’d only made matters worse.

I just saw Carl leaving the shop and Summer immediately started yelling at him again. It’s always about his mom, Debbie, and how she’s getting out of prison after her court hearing. Honestly, it’s so unfair – Debbie didn’t cause Billy’s accident. The police just jumped to the conclusion it was her fault because she was driving, but she’s completely innocent.

Carl confessed he wasn’t a good person and often lied, but he sincerely promised he and Debbie had nothing to do with the death.

Summer looked puzzled as he told her to start looking closer to home for answers.

What will Summer do with this information?
