ITV has announced the first characters who will appear in its upcoming crossover episode between its soaps: Lisa Swain from Emmerdale (played by Vicky Myers) and Aaron Dingle from Coronation Street (played by Danny Miller) will meet for the first time in a special episode set in Corriedale.
Fans of Coronation Street and Emmerdale have something to look forward to! A special episode will air early next year, leading into a new daily schedule that combines both shows into one ‘power hour’.
Both shows are currently releasing small bits of information to build suspense. Recently, a ‘wanted’ poster for the villainous John Sugden (played by Oliver Farnworth) appeared briefly in a scene at the Weatherfield Police Station.
Everyone’s favorite residents, Lisa and Aaron, are officially returning, and we’ve also gotten a first look at some behind-the-scenes photos of them!
Aaron is still facing a lot of difficulties, especially since he had no idea his husband, John, was capable of such terrible things for months.
Things were finally improving for him, especially with the return of his ex-husband, Robert Sugden. However, his hopes were quickly dashed when he discovered Robert had started a relationship with someone he met in prison, Kev Townsend.

Lisa’s also been having a difficult time, especially since her wife, Becky (Amy Cudden), unexpectedly reappeared. Becky had been believed dead, but was actually in Spain for the past four years as part of a witness protection program.
Determined to throw herself back into work, could she pick up the case of missing John Sugden?
Becky is also proving to be a key player. She’s been attempting to reconnect with Lisa, even though she’s engaged to Carla Connor. With her increasingly darker behavior, it’s possible she’ll have a significant role in the unfolding storyline.
Unfortunately, for now, that’s all we know. But we’re sure the waiting game will be worth it!
I have to say, I was really struck by the enthusiasm of actress Sue Myers when talking about this upcoming Coronation Street episode. She described it as something truly special – bold, innovative, and even history-making, especially considering it’s part of the show’s 65th-anniversary celebrations – or at least, how they were feeling on set while filming it. It sounds like this is going to be an episode you won’t want to miss!
She added that she was eager to begin, explaining the project had been in development for a while. The dedicated teams at Coronation Street and Emmerdale had worked incredibly hard to bring it to life.
I’m excited to collaborate with new faces, both on and off screen. The energy is fantastic, and I think this project is going to be amazing.
Miller expressed his excitement about Aaron appearing in the Corriedale episode. He shared that, growing up in Manchester, both Coronation Street and Emmerdale were always popular shows in his family, and he thinks it’s fantastic to see the two shows connect.
Filming at night has been challenging with young children, but it’s been a lot of fun, and I’ve really enjoyed working with everyone on Coronation Street. I’m excited to see how the episode comes together, weaving together the stories from both Emmerdale and Corrie – it’s going to be amazing for soap fans!
