ITV has cancelled its new hour of soap operas for the second time this week to make room for sports broadcasts.
Fans hoping to watch Emmerdale or Coronation Street at 8pm will be disappointed, as the channel will be showing the Six Nations rugby tournament instead.
Tonight, Jill Douglas will be hosting the first match, starting at 7:30 PM. France and Ireland will kick off at 8:10 PM at le Stade de France in Paris.
It comes just days after an EFL Cup match replaced the serial dramas.

Last month, both soap operas shortened their weekly airtime by thirty minutes to create a consistent schedule with a new episode each weeknight. This change came after a special crossover episode, nicknamed ‘Corriedale,’ which briefly united the storylines of the two shows.
Following the announcement of ITV1’s new programming schedule, Kevin Lygo, ITV’s Managing Director of Media and Entertainment, explained that the changes are based on what viewers want. He emphasized that ITV already offers viewers many ways to watch, thanks to ITVX, and they aim to deliver their popular soaps in a way that’s easy to enjoy.

Chris Bisson, who plays a role in Emmerdale, shared with Leeds Live that the recent changes to TV listings will finally allow the two shows to cross over. He explained that fans have been eager to see this happen, and it will begin with the new ITV schedule.
People have been complaining about Coronation Street’s schedule changing due to football and the confusion about when it’s on. But that’s all settled now – it’s on every day from 8 to 9 pm.
Both Emmerdale and Corrie will resume in their regular slot tomorrow (February 6th).
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 8pm on ITV1. Coronation Street follows at 8.30pm. Stream on ITVX.
