I’m really excited to hear that Andrew Hayden-Smith is joining Coronation Street! He’ll be playing a part in a very important storyline, focusing on domestic abuse, and I think he’ll bring a lot to the show.
Over the past few weeks, viewers of the ITV soap opera have been following a storyline where Todd Grimshaw is caught in an abusive relationship with his partner, Theo Silverton.
Upcoming episodes promise more drama as Doctor Who and Hollyoaks actor Hayden-Smith joins the cast as Pete, a colleague of Theo’s. Theo invites Pete to spend the night next week, which upsets Todd.
Hayden-Smith is known for playing Jake Simmonds in three episodes of *Doctor Who* – ‘Rise of the Cybermen,’ ‘The Age of Steel,’ and ‘Doomsday’ – and for his role as police detective Gavin Armstrong on *Hollyoaks* from 2016 to 2017.
He first became well-known as an actor on the TV show Byker Grove and as a presenter for CBBC. He’s also appeared in shows created by Russell T Davies, including Cucumber and Banana.
I’m really worried about Todd next week on Corrie. He’s been waiting for his bowel cancer test results, and he hasn’t even told Theo! He’s keeping it all to himself, which is just so stressful to watch.
When Todd unexpectedly announced he wanted to plan his funeral, George glanced at his email and found a notification about Todd’s doctor’s appointment.
