Coronation Street confirms Gary Windass’s fate as attacker is revealed in ITVX edition

*Warning: Spoilers for Thursday 10th July’s episode of Coronation Street, available now on ITVX.*

In the upcoming episode of Coronation Street, airing on Thursday, 10th July 2025, the true events surrounding Gary Windass (played by Mikey North) will be unveiled.

The puzzle unfolded as Gary declined a kiss from Lou Michaelis (Farrel Hegarty), and subsequently, she attempted to extort him. Not long afterward, it was discovered that she had covertly utilized his phone to send herself a flirtatious message.

Lou was later seen with Gary’s phone in her possession.

Troubled by a lack of trust in his wife Maria (Samia Longchambon), whom he knew had advised against it, Gary sought solace at his mother Anna’s (Debbie Rush) home to gather his thoughts.

Yet, when Gary didn’t show up at home as expected and seemed to text Maria saying he was now residing with a friend instead, her suspicions arose.

Feeling concerned as a devoted mom, I started my quest to find Gary, who hadn’t reached out for young Liam’s (Charlie Wrenshall) birthday. Little did I know, the audience discovered he was in a coma.

In the ongoing storyline, Maria goes to the police station to file a report about Gary being missing, while Kit Green learns about an unknown patient in a coma at the hospital, played by Jacob Roberts.

But Kit later has to tell Maria that the patient isn’t Gary, although he promises to find him.

When Maria informs Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) that Gary hasn’t done any financial transactions since 23rd June, Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher) listens in and shares with Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby) that this timeframe matches the evening they both used drugs.

It appears that Summer maintained there were no instances of an attack, however, it has since been uncovered that Gary suffered an assault on the exact same night.

In the meantime, Gary lies unconscious, while a nurse informs a woman who has come to visit that ‘Chesney’ is showing signs of improvement.

But who is the woman by Gary’s bedside, and why is she pretending he is someone else?

You have the option to watch the episode right now on ITVX, or tune in to ITV at 9pm for a later viewing. At that time, you’ll get to uncover the mystery through a series of flashbacks.

Gary’s fate will then be made clear after weeks of uncertainty, but will he survive?

Soon enough, Maria will find out about Gary’s predicament, and actress Longchambon mentioned that her character never hesitates for a moment to identify the perpetrator who left Gary in a coma.

She recognizes that, throughout his life, there were many individuals who might harbor ill will towards Gary, possibly seeking retribution against him.
