Coronation Street icon revealed to have already filmed final scenes after nearly 30 years since soap debut

Actress Sally Ann Matthews, well-known for her role in Coronation Street, has shot her last episodes and will be departing the series following many years of screen presence.

Matthews portrayed beloved character Jenny Bradley on the ITV soap opera starting from 1986, and she played this role continuously until 1991. She made a short comeback in 1993, and then took on the role again more regularly since 2015.

After the announcement of her leaving, it’s been said that she has already wrapped up filming her last scenes.

“Sal wanted a lowkey exit,” a source told The Sun.

The source stated that she bid farewell and departed from Manchester. It’s interesting to note that just as she was wrapping up her departure, news about her termination broke.

However, we understand that Matthews has indeed filmed her final scenes already as Jenny Connor.

Matthews shared on Instagram in August that she is leaving the soap after spending an unexpected additional decade due to her deep affection for the role. She now looks forward to taking on roles she dreamed of as a grown-up.

“Thanks Trafford Wharf Rd for the memories and endless laughter x.”

Jenny is the most recent main character to be leaving the soap, following the departures of Eileen Grimshaw (Sue Cleaver) and Craig Tinker (Colson Smith) in recent times, as well as Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank), who will also say goodbye at the end of this year.
