Things were finally starting to settle for the Webster family on Coronation Street, but the arrival of someone from their past could cause new problems.
This year has been difficult for the family, with Debbie (Sue Devaney) facing early-onset dementia and Kevin (Michael Le Vell) fighting testicular cancer. Adding to their troubles, they discovered their younger ‘brother’ Carl (Jonathan Howard) is a serial cheater and is scheming to steal their money.
He went to extreme lengths, even allowing Debbie to be wrongly accused of causing Billy Mayhew’s death. He manipulated the situation, making it look like she was driving when it was actually him, just to frame her.
Just before learning her punishment, she revealed a long-held secret: she was actually Carl’s mother. This surprising admission further complicated an already difficult situation.
Debbie eventually became fed up with his controlling ways and told him to leave Weatherfield and go back to Germany. She gave him money and said she never wanted to see him again, but after a short time in the hospital, he’s made it known that he plans to stay.

Carl is likely to get into even more trouble, especially now that his old partner, Fiona Morley, is coming back into the picture.
Actress Sara Poyzer is returning to the show this month for three episodes. She previously played the role for four months last year.
Fiona, an ex-girlfriend of Ronnie Bailey (played by Vinta Morgan), first contacted him with a plan to make money by selling stolen cars. Although Ronnie initially considered it, he decided against the scheme because he didn’t want to risk losing Debbie.

Carl listened in, intrigued, and managed to shift a few of the motors through Websters’ Autocentre.
Poyzer’s representative told TopMob she’s shooting additional scenes later this month, so viewers will see her on screen all summer long.
I’m so excited to see her shine! After years on those familiar TV streets – you might recognize her from EastEnders, Crossroads, Doctors, or Casualty – she’s now absolutely killing it as Donna in the West End’s Mamma Mia! It’s amazing to watch her transition to the stage.
She’s also best known for playing Leonie Snell in The Archers on Radio 4.
Coronation Street airs weeknights at 8:30pm on ITV1 or can be streamed from 7am on ITVX.
