It appears that the character Billy Mayhew from Coronation Street could soon meet his end in some dramatic episodes coming up next year. This decision follows the departure of actor Daniel Brocklebank from the ITV soap opera.
For more than ten years, Billy has been a consistent character in this soap opera, often finding himself in the center of intense emotional sequences. Lately, he’s been involved in Paul Foreman’s storyline about Motor Neuron Disease.
According to The Sun, the producers of the show are actively brainstorming a storyline to write off the character Billy, as they had previously decided to eliminate Daniel back in January.
It’s also expected that Billy will the focus of Corrie’s Christmas and New Year storylines.

In May, it was revealed that Brocklebank would depart the soap opera, with him verifying that his character would be written out as a crucial component of an exciting new plotline.
Brocklebank mentioned that he’s spent nearly a fourth of his life working on the project called Corrie, cherishing each moment within its walls and always eagerly anticipating going to work there.
I adore every person working on this series, and although it’s tough to leave, I’m just as thrilled to discover what lies ahead.”
“I appreciate everyone involved in this production, and though it’s bittersweet to depart, I’m equally eager to uncover the mysteries of the future.
Kate Brooks, the producer, mentioned that “Over the next few months, Billy is going to be deeply entwined in a significant plotline. This storyline will challenge him in unexpected ways, stretching his friendships and beliefs to their breaking points.
We’re deeply saddened to see Dan leave us after playing pivotal roles in many memorable Corrie storylines, particularly Paul’s MND. His unparalleled acting abilities and invaluable contributions off-camera have made him a cherished figure among us here on the cobbles. We will surely miss his presence.
