Coronation Street’s Jodie Ramsey tells a troubling lie as she closes in on David Platt in early ITVX release

Jodie Ramsey, played by Olivia Frances Brown, is creating drama on Coronation Street, but her family doesn’t seem to notice what she’s up to.

The new character has been subtly stealing odd things, like a photo of Bernie Winter-Alahan and a book from Brian Packham, and now seems to be setting her sights on David Platt.

He doesn’t realize she’s trying to build a relationship with him, but he did mention to his brother, Nick Tilsley, that something about her felt off.

Today on the show, the Platt family went to Weatherfield General Hospital as their youngest child, Harper, prepared for a big operation.

Their baby girl was born with a growth on her neck and requires surgery to remove it. David and his wife, Shona, were understandably worried about the operation and anxiously watched as the hospital staff got their daughter ready for the procedure.

Everyone from the family unexpectedly showed up at the hospital, bringing sandwiches and crossword puzzles. Jodie had encouraged them to come and support David and Shona, but their visit wasn’t entirely appreciated.

David snapped at the group, telling them they were hindering him when he was already having a difficult day and asked them to go away. Jodie stayed, and eventually found a private moment to speak with him in the hallway.

She offered him a hug, but he seemed uneasy accepting it, and then she left. Before she could go, another mother in the hospital ward asked if she was Harper’s mother, and Jodie didn’t correct her, happily letting the woman assume she was.

Relishing in the attention, she even claimed that David was her husband.

After celebrating Harper’s successful surgery, David and Shona kept a close watch over their baby. Unbeknownst to them, Jodie was observing from the window, and she seemed particularly interested in David.

To what lengths will she go to to get her man?
