The horror game “Corpse Party II: Darkness Distortion” is scheduled to debut on PlayStation 5, as well as its pre-announced versions for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC (Steam) in the year 2026. The publisher MAGES has made this announcement, which moves the game’s release from its previously targeted 2025 window. This delay is from the original plan.
According to a press statement by XSEED Games, the development team is making use of the extra time to create a sequel that aims to surpass the terror of its predecessors by introducing groundbreaking changes in perspective to intensify the immersive horror experience. This upcoming installment will not only uphold the renowned legacy of ‘Corpse Party’, but also promise to deliver the most chilling scares yet. Moreover, this additional time will enable the creation and simultaneous launch of a PlayStation 5 version alongside the previously announced versions for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Windows PC through Steam.

About
“Ayame Kirishima, Ayame Kirishima, please send them to the hospital.”
In an attempt to increase her viewership, live-streamer Nemu Takahashi persuades her classmates Haruka Nanami and Maria Hitsugi to explore an urban myth known as “Ayame’s Mercy” in a deserted hospital for a live broadcast.
It does not go as planned.
In a twist of events, the trio of friends inadvertently awaken an age-old curse within the hospital, leading them into a grim alternate world. This realm is inhabited by the vindictive ghost of Ayame Kirishima and numerous other sinister entities. Meanwhile, their schoolmates back home strive to locate them. Their chance for survival now rests on outsmarting the wicked spirits lurking within Amare Est Vivere Hospital and breaking Ayame’s curse permanently.
