Cory Booker Marries Alexis Lewis 2 Months After Announcing Engagement

Cory Booker is in a state of wedded bliss.

New Jersey Senator, recently engaged to Alexis Lewis in September, married her in two wedding ceremonies. He shared on social media that he feels incredibly grateful.

On November 30th, they shared on Instagram that they got married in two separate ceremonies. They first made things official at the courthouse, followed by a celebration with their families. They expressed feeling incredibly full of love and gratitude.

The couple officially married on November 24th in Newark, New Jersey, in a simple civil ceremony with their parents watching. They then celebrated with a more personal ceremony and a private family reception in Washington, D.C., five days later, as reported by the New York Times.

Cory Booker, 56, met his future wife, who works as an investments director, in May 2024 through a friend. Their first date in Washington D.C. went so well that he persuaded her to change her flight plans so they could go out again—something she was very glad she did.

Oh my gosh, I heard Serena Lewis say this and it just gets me! She and her friends have this saying – ‘Change your flight, change your life’ – and it’s SO true for her! She said after being single for so long, she honestly didn’t think she’d ever get married. But then she met him, and it’s like they both went through all this stuff separately, and now they’ve found each other. It’s just… perfect, and totally deserves a huge celebration! I’m seriously living for their love story!

After previously being in a relationship with Rosario Dawson from 2019 to 2022, Booker expressed similar feelings when he announced his engagement earlier this year, describing Lewis as a wonderful surprise and a true blessing.

He shared on Instagram how thrilled they were to start this new chapter, and how much joy they were experiencing. He expressed deep gratitude for all the love, support, and positive energy they’d received from so many people, adding that they felt incredibly lucky to be part of such a caring and supportive community.
