Connor McAllister went through a tough breakup on the recent episode of Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, but his songwriting could be his saving grace. With the show ending its run at the end of 2025, and after receiving praise from Dr. Demento for a comedy song he submitted, could Connor pursue a career in music?
TVLine recently interviewed actor Dougie Baldwin and pointed out that a potential storyline exists because of a Season 1 appearance by Jay Leno. In that episode, Leno gave Connor a shout-out, a callback to an earlier scene where Connor told his family he knew the late-night host. TVLine then asked Baldwin if Connor’s recent musical achievements might lead to a professional opportunity with Leno, to which he responded…
Jay and I are just friends. I’m not looking for a job with him, I just enjoy our friendship. Ultimately, any potential collaboration is up to the show’s producers, but I’d love the chance to hang out with Jay Leno and jokingly play music with his band – that would be hilarious!
Dougie Baldwin isn’t aware of any plans for Connor to appear on The Tonight Show. This isn’t surprising, though – I just found out that even the show’s cast doesn’t know when the characters Georgie and Mandy will split up.

At Georgie and Mandy’s wedding, I met Mary’s new boyfriend, and he strongly reminds me of a younger version of the character Sheldon.
As someone who enjoys Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, I’m hoping the show eventually does something with Connor’s story. It’s amusing to see him being lazy and cracking jokes, but the series has started to focus on his deeper anxieties about being a man with no clear direction in life, and I’d like to see that explored further.
It would be a letdown if the show started and ended with Connor in the same place in life. Even if the series doesn’t have a completely happy ending – especially considering the uncertain future of Georgie and Mandy’s relationship – we should still feel good that Connor has found a career that truly suits him.
I expect the show’s writers and producers will have enough time to address that, as it seems likely the show will be on the air for a good while, considering how successful similar shows have been in the past.
