Spencer Hatcher is getting back to business.
Just six weeks after his mother, Holly Hatcher, was tragically killed during a home invasion in Virginia, the country singer spoke to his fans about the loss.
He shared a video on September 9th thanking everyone for their incredible support and kind messages over the past month. He and his family tried to read all the comments and posts, and he expressed how grateful they all are for the outpouring of love.
The 28-year-old said that the time since the murder has been the most difficult period for him and his family. He plans to focus on his career, explaining that it’s what his mother would have wanted.
He confirmed his commitment to continuing his music career, saying he’s dedicated to bringing joy to fans and performing live. He has no plans to stop and intends to give it his all, as he always has, inviting his audience to join him as he gets back to making music.
Spencer added that he intends to honor the commitments he made prior to his mom’s death.

We’re returning to our original touring schedule, hitting radio stations and continuing to play live shows. My mom was thrilled about all the possibilities and the music, and I hope you all feel the same way.
Holly, a 62-year-old schoolteacher from Virginia, was fatally stabbed in her home on August 3rd by Kevin Walker, a 41-year-old intruder, according to Rockingham County Sheriff Bryan Hutcheson. During the attack, Walker also injured Holly’s husband, Michael Hatcher, who then shot and killed Walker with a handgun he retrieved from his car.
Days after the incident, Michael shared in a video statement with the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office that he, along with his sons Dane, Spencer, and Connor, were deeply affected by the trauma, pain, and lingering questions. He expressed his gratitude for the overwhelming love, care, kindness, and support everyone had shown them, saying it had made a difficult time much easier to bear.
