As a lifelong DC fan, I couldn’t contain my excitement when I saw Batman make his debut in the latest episode of Creature Commandos! The silhouette was a clever touch, and it only fueled my anticipation for the final suit design. James Gunn’s commitment to introducing Batman into the DC Universe has been a long-awaited dream come true for me. I can barely contain my excitement as I eagerly await more appearances by the Caped Crusader in upcoming projects!
Just like Gunn said, Batman is an integral part of this universe, and I’m thrilled to see him make his mark alongside Superman. As a kid, I used to spend hours drawing Batman and daydreaming about his adventures. Now, as an adult, seeing him come to life on screen is nothing short of magical.
And let me tell you, the DCU won’t be the same without my beloved Batman! He’s the epitome of a hero, and I can’t wait to see how Gunn and his team will bring him to life in a way that stays true to the character we all know and love.
Oh, and by the way, if you haven’t seen Creature Commandos yet, what are you waiting for? You won’t want to miss Batman’s cameo! Just remember, the wait for the final suit design might be worth it, but don’t blink or you might miss him! 😉
Fans of DC Comics got an unexpected treat in the latest episode of ‘Creature Commandos’ with another hint towards Batman. This adult-animated series on Max is the inaugural project within James Gunn’s new DC Universe. Although some characters will eventually appear in ‘Superman’, it’s the arrival of Batman that everyone’s talking about. As per director Andy Muschietti, the film ‘The Brave and the Bold’ has been put on hold, suggesting a potential delay for Batman’s debut in the DCU. Until then, ‘Creature Commandos’ is the go-to place for all things related to Batman, including a brief appearance by the Caped Crusader. Note: The following information includes spoilers for Episode 6 of Creature Commandos.
Title “Priyatel Skelet” in the sixth episode of Creature Commandos delves into Doctor Phosphorus’ past. It offers glimpses of Gotham City and its mobster, Rupert Thorne, along with brief mentions of Bialya. However, it was the unexpected appearance of Batman on a rooftop that might have sent dedicated DC fans into a frenzy. Although only his silhouette is visible amidst a lightning bolt’s attempt to illuminate the night, the muscular shape hints at Batman’s presence. The designers at DC Studios are intentionally withholding Batman’s costume from view for now, as they work towards finalizing the suit design later on.
In a groundbreaking first appearance, Batman steps onto the scene within the DC Universe! However, all we get to see is his shadowy outline, as director James Gunn decided to keep the final costume under wraps during an interview with Rotten Tomatoes, preferring not to lock down a definitive design just yet.

Gunn also made clear that they chose a silhouetted Batman for the “Creature Commandos” because he hadn’t finalized Batman’s suit yet. In an interview with Rotten Tomatoes about Batman’s appearance in “Creature Commandos”, Gunn explained, “It’s a clever way to suggest that Batman is already present in this universe. Just like the Superman film, people in Metropolis are aware of him. We don’t have to retell his origin story again. Instead, it serves to let viewers know that Batman is a significant character in this universe and plays a role in shaping its events, even defeating powerful villains such as Phosphorus.
This here is DCU’s Batman… let me tell you, I’ve always had a soft spot for Batman. I’ve adored him since I was young. He’s one of my favorite characters, and I’ve made it clear in the past while working at Marvel that my favorite character is Batman. We have big plans for him, he’s the most beloved superhero globally, and I can hardly wait for everyone to see more of him, alongside Superman.” – Gunn expressed.
Creature Commandos is now available to stream on Max.
