As a researcher following the gaming industry, I’ve noticed a bit of a lull in major presentations after The Game Awards. Usually, we don’t see many big showcases until the summer events like Summer Game Fest or Xbox Games Showcase. However, this year, something new has started: the New Game Plus Showcase – often called New Game+ – which is a really welcome addition to the presentation schedule.
New Game Plus is a show created by content creators to make video game announcements and reveals more exciting and engaging. Unlike some other events, it’s free for developers to participate. It was announced on December 29th, and the first showcase is happening today, January 8th, at 1 PM Pacific Time / 4 PM Eastern Time.
Excited about the show but missed the live broadcast? Don’t worry! I’ve compiled a complete list of every Xbox and PC game revealed during the event. You’ll find trailers, game descriptions, developer details, confirmed platforms, and release date information – everything you need to know.
Blind Descent
Pokuch and META Publishing are creating a new, atmospheric survival game that combines the base-building of Valheim with the mysterious alien elements of Prey. Players can now add it to their Steam wishlist, and it’s also planned for release on Xbox Series X|S, PC (via Steam, GOG, and Epic Games), and PlayStation 5.
Deep Dish Dungeon
Looking for a retro-style dungeon crawler with a unique twist? Deep Dish Dungeon combines the excitement of exploring dark and mysterious dungeons with the fun of cooking – it’s reminiscent of the popular game Dungeon Meshi! You can add it to your wishlist on Steam now.
The Blood of Dawnwalker
We recently saw an extended gameplay demo and heard from the developers of The Blood of Dawnwalker, a fantasy action RPG where you switch between being a human during the day and a vampire at night. The presentation highlighted how the game world changes based on your choices. It’s currently planned for release on Xbox Series X|S, PC, and PlayStation 5 sometime in 2026.
Prologue: Go Wayback!
Brendan Greene, the creator of PUBG, recently discussed his new survival game, Prologue: Go Wayback! During the presentation, he explained how the game features randomly generated landscapes, challenging survival mechanics, and how its world is created. It’s available now on Steam Early Access for $19.99, and you can try a free demo.
Beautiful Light
I just checked out the latest trailer for Beautiful Light, and it looks seriously cool! It’s an extraction shooter heavily inspired by STALKER, and it’s coming to PC in December 2026 via Steam and the Epic Games Store. The gameplay shown was really intense – lots of fighting both mutants *and* other players, all set in a super atmospheric world. I’m definitely keeping an eye on this one!
Project Shadowglass
Starhelm Studios recently showcased Project Shadowglass, a detailed and immersive stealth game where players will carefully plan and carry out risky heists in a fantasy setting. What sets it apart from many retro-inspired games is its first-person perspective. It’s planned for release on Steam and is currently available to wishlist.
