Crimson Desert Crosses 6 Million Copies Sold Since Launch

Pearl Abyss announced that Crimson Desert, their open-world action RPG released last March, has surpassed six million copies sold. The game has gained over a million new players since April 15th.

We’re so grateful for all the amazing stories and adventures players are having in Crimson Desert! Thank you to every player who’s explored Pywel and made the world their own, as shared on Twitter.

Although “journey” usually implies an ongoing experience, that’s what players are getting with this game thanks to consistent updates after its initial launch. Pearl Abyss has released updates almost every week, continually adding new features, refining how the game works, and fixing any performance problems.

The update includes a ton of new content, like rideable mounts, improved skills for Oongka and Damian, and fun mini-games such as Pinball and the Crane Game. We’ve also added personal storage for different item types, and there’s much more than we can list here! Plus, we’re planning even more additions between June and September, including a New Game Plus mode and cross-save functionality. We’re also working on improving the story, which players have identified as an area for improvement.

And if that wasn’t enough, DLC is also in the works. Nothing is known about it, whether it’s the cost, what new content it brings or when it will launch, but we’re excited all the same.
