As a passionate gamer, I’ve got some news that might be a bit of a bummer for fellow Crimson Desert enthusiasts like myself. Pearl Abyss, the brilliant minds behind this open-world action adventure game, has decided to move back its release from the end of 2025 to the first quarter of 2026. This means we’ll have to wait a little longer than anticipated to dive into the thrilling world of Crimson Desert, but I believe it will be worth the wait for an even more polished experience!
Prior to addressing questions during the Q2 2025 earnings call, Pearl Abyss provided an update on the progress and upcoming release of Crimson Desert – a topic many are eagerly anticipating. At present, voice-overs are being completed for Crimson Desert, while additional tasks such as console certification are being undertaken in preparation for launch. In the realm of marketing, Pearl Abyss intends to exhibit at Gamescom and PAX West this coming August, offering a glimpse of their open-world creation. Additionally, they aim to attend the Tokyo Game Show in September to bolster their efforts in the Japanese market.
The release date for our highly anticipated AAA console game, “Crimson Desert,” has been pushed back by three months. This delay is due to complexities in scheduling and collaborations with various partners for offline distribution, voice-overs, console certification, and other launch preparations, which have taken longer than anticipated. We deeply regret that we cannot meet the initial plan of releasing the game in the fourth quarter. Please bear with us as this decision is strategically made to ensure a successful launch on a larger scale.
Although we’ve internally set the launch date for Q1 2026, due to changes in our schedule, we won’t be announcing the exact date yet. We’ll share it with you when it’s more convenient based on our business needs, not at Gamescom next week as initially planned. We greatly appreciate your ongoing enthusiasm for our company and promise to strive for an even better user experience in the future.
Crimson Desert will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam.
