Pearl Abyss has announced that *Crimson Desert* will be released in March 2026, and IGN First has just released new gameplay footage. The video shows the main character, Kliff, taking part in a castle siege, and while the action is fairly direct, it highlights several new skills and game features. You can watch it below.
The game features enhanced movement with the grappling hook, letting you swing through the air instead of being instantly teleported. You can then seamlessly switch to gliding and dashing. Beyond combat, you can also combine elements like ice with your weapons or use them to propel yourself upwards, adding another layer to exploration and traversal.
The spear weapon now has powerful charged attacks and stabbing moves. We also get a look at a new boss called Fontaine, the Cursed Knight. He’s protected by soldiers who are constantly firing at Kliff, and he uses a cursed shield with a ghostly knight that attacks on its own. If you defeat Fontaine, you’ll be able to use that powerful shield yourself.
Crimson Desert will be available on PlayStation 5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S starting March 19, 2026. A physical version of the game will also be released, thanks to a partnership with PLAION.
