Despite numerous setbacks, Pearl Abyss has confirmed that Crimson Desert is finished with its main development phase and is now being prepared for release. The game is undergoing the final steps of console certification and physical copy production, while the team simultaneously works on a launch-day update.
Considering that Pywel’s world is reportedly bigger than the map in Red Dead Redemption 2 and at least twice the size of The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim’s open world, it’s not surprising we’re eager for information. The developers have promised more updates soon, and hopefully, we’ll learn more about the game’s story, which currently focuses on the mercenary Kliff and his search for his companions.
Crimson Desert arrives on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC on March 19th, priced at $69.99. This action-packed game features everything from customizable mechs and epic dragon battles to floating islands filled with puzzles. With a deep combat system blending magic and wrestling, and dozens of different factions, there’s a lot to explore! It’s shaping up to be one of the biggest releases of 2026, and we’re excited to see what’s next.
We’re thrilled to announce that #CrimsonDesert has gone gold!
On behalf of the team at Pearl Abyss, thank you to our fans around the world for your support and for reaching this milestone with us. Stay tuned for more news, and see you in Pywel on March 19!— Crimson Desert (@CrimsonDesert_) January 21, 2026
