Although the main storyline of Crimson Desert didn’t quite live up to expectations, the game’s open world is packed with impressive details. Recently, players discovered this dedication to detail goes even further than the surface of the game world, extending all the way into space. A video from the YouTube channel ItemRelocationClub demonstrates that if you can reach a high enough altitude, you’ll find a surprising amount of detail in areas most players wouldn’t expect.
The video demonstrates the incredible detail of the game’s world, showing that its curvature was carefully modeled and is even visible from space. You can also see the planet’s atmosphere. Looking further out, the Milky Way galaxy and countless stars are visible against the blackness of space.
A social media user named NikTek has shared a new video demonstrating a way to reach space in the PC version of Crimson Desert. It involves using an Infinite Stamina mod and repeatedly performing aerial attacks – each attack provides a small boost in height. NikTek points out that it’s a time-consuming process and could take players several hours to achieve.
After a while of ascending, we were able to see what appeared to be the Earth’s atmosphere. The Milky Way was very clear, and I even managed to capture a short timelapse video during the flight.
It seems Pearl Abyss, the game’s developer, may have included effects for spacecraft re-entry, should players ever travel to space and return to the planet. However, a player named NikTek pointed out that the visual of the main character, Kliff, appearing to burn during descent might simply be a strange glitch caused by how the in-game lantern interacts with the visuals.
When Kliff falls, it appears as though he’s entering the atmosphere, with flames seemingly surrounding him. The author isn’t sure if this fiery effect was deliberate, as their lantern was lit at the time.
This impressive level of detail might just show how dedicated the developers are, even to aspects players might miss. However, it’s also possible Pearl Abyss is hinting at bigger things for Crimson Desert, like a future expansion or even a completely new game focused on space exploration, as NikTek has pointed out.
Pearl Abyss’s Crimson Desert has proven to be a hit since its release last month, selling 4 million copies globally. Recent data suggests the game has generated around $200 million in revenue. The PlayStation 5 version has been particularly successful, contributing approximately $75 million to that total, according to Alinea Analytics.
Crimson Desert is now available to play on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. Pearl Abyss has consistently added new content and improvements since launch. Here’s a look at some of the best features included in those updates.
This is a timelapse showing how to reach space in the game Crimson Desert. A YouTuber named “ItemRelocationClub” first discovered this trick. You need to install a mod that gives you unlimited stamina, then use the aerial stab ability to launch yourself upwards until you break through the atmosphere. It took a considerable amount of time and effort…
