Pearl Abyss, the studio behind Crimson Desert, has finished showcasing all the features of their upcoming open-world game. They’ve revealed a wealth of life simulation elements that will complement the main gameplay – essentially, there’s a huge amount to do!
The game revolves around your base camp, called Greymane Camp. You’ll be able to build and improve it however you like – even customizing the layout with objects, similar to games like The Sims. You can also cook food, trade with merchants, and create your own farm.
Throughout the game, characters you meet will come back to your base camp. You can also hire mercenaries for assistance. Both companions and mercenaries can be sent out to explore the world, defeat enemies, and complete tasks. Completing these tasks will earn you money and valuable items.
Once you leave the safety of your camp, you can visit towns and villages to find optional quests and things to do. Be careful though – there’s a crime system, and if you break the law, the townspeople and guards will become hostile. The video shows how you can end up with a bounty on your head.
Furthermore, you can go fishing, hunting, and mining.
The detailed video showed that you can customize your character to some extent. While you always choose from three established characters, you can alter things like their hairstyle, tattoos, and clothing.
