Crimson Desert Ranks in the Top 20 for Total Weekly Active Players on Consoles in the US

Even after nearly three weeks since its release, players are still exploring the expansive world of Crimson Desert at a good rate. It might seem like people aren’t playing enough, but according to analyst Mat Piscatella from Circana, that’s not true. The game was actually one of the most popular console games played in the United States during the week of March 28th – just three days after it launched.

Xbox players spent an average of 20 hours a week playing, making it the most popular platform. PlayStation ranked second, with Path of Exile being even more popular, averaging 22 hours of playtime per player. Piscatella also shared that Crimson Desert is now among the top 20 games with the most weekly players on both PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.

Remember, this is just an average – some players likely spent much more time in the game. That’s understandable, considering Pearl Abyss’s game has a huge world to discover, drawing inspiration from titles like Red Dead Redemption 2 and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. On top of that, there’s plenty to see and the combat is really engaging.

Since its release, Crimson Desert has become a huge success, selling over four million copies, and is expected to reach five million soon. The developers are also consistently releasing updates and improvements. You can find details on the newest patch here.

On PlayStation, it came in second place with 22 hours per player, just behind Path of Exile.
