Pearl Abyss has announced how Crimson Desert will perform on consoles before its release next week. Players on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X will be able to choose between three graphics settings: Performance, Balanced, and Quality.
The game runs at 1080p resolution with 60 frames per second (FPS) when VSync is turned on, but if your monitor supports Variable Refresh Rate (VRR), you can achieve even higher frame rates. The ‘Balanced’ mode offers upscaled 4K visuals (starting from 1280p using FSR 3) at 40 FPS with VSync, and also benefits from a 120/240Hz display. The ‘Quality’ setting provides upscaled 4K from 1440p using FSR 3, running at 30 FPS with VSync and high ray tracing settings. Other graphics modes offer ray tracing at a lower setting.
The PS5 Pro offers different graphics modes to suit your preferences. Performance mode targets 4K resolution at a smooth 60 frames per second, using upscaling technology and supports ray tracing. Balanced mode offers a good balance with upscaled 4K at 40 FPS, also with ray tracing. For the best visual fidelity, Quality mode delivers native 4K resolution at 30 FPS and utilizes the highest level of ray tracing.
On Xbox Series S, the game has two graphics options: a Performance mode that runs at 720p resolution with 40 frames per second, and a Quality mode at 1080p with 30 frames per second. VSync is enabled in both modes, and ray tracing is disabled.
We’ll need a closer look at the numbers and how the game is performing, but with Crimson Desert set to release on March 19th, we’ll have that information soon.
