Crunchyroll is famous for its streaming platform, but the company also brings popular anime movies to North America. Their recent release of *Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle* was a big hit, topping the box office for two weekends. Now, to build excitement for the upcoming *Chainsaw Man* movie, Crunchyroll is offering the entire first season of the series for free streaming.
I’m so excited! Crunchyroll just put the whole first season of *Chainsaw Man* on YouTube – perfect timing for the new movie! They even included the English dub, and it’s a nearly five-hour marathon of Denji’s crazy life as the Chainsaw Man. If you’re new to the series, this is a fantastic way to jump in, or if you’re like me and loved season one, it’s a great chance to relive it! The movie, *Chainsaw Man The Movie*, comes out October 24th and picks up right after the season finale. Get ready, because with Reze showing up, Denji’s not only facing a seriously dangerous enemy, but he’s also getting thrown into a love triangle he definitely didn’t expect! You can watch the whole season right here:
Chainsaw Man’s Silver Screen Success
Before coming to North America, the *Chainsaw Man* movie has already been very successful in Japan. As of today, Denji’s first film has earned nearly $60 million USD, proving it’s a hit even before its release in Western countries. While it’s unlikely to be the highest-grossing film on its opening weekend, given competition from movies like *Black Phone 2* and *Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere*, recent anime releases have sometimes surprised everyone with strong debuts.
The future of the *Chainsaw Man* anime is still uncertain. If the studio, MAPPA, continues to closely follow the manga, adapting the next story arc, “International Assassins,” as a movie could be challenging due to its length. Even MAPPA’s CEO, Manabu Otsuka, wasn’t sure if the story would continue as a series of movies or a second season when asked earlier this year. However, MAPPA has previously promised to adapt the entire *Chainsaw Man* manga, so fans can be confident that all the content will eventually be animated. With the arrival of the Bomb Devil in the upcoming film, which releases next week, anime viewers are in for an incredibly wild and surprising experience.
