Hey anime fans, just a heads-up from Crunchyroll! They’ve announced they’re increasing subscription prices across all tiers. Starting February 2nd in the US (and showing up on your bill after March 4th), each plan will cost $2 more per month. It’s the first price bump for the Mega Fan and Ultimate Fan tiers since 2024, and the Fan tier hasn’t seen a change since 2019! Crunchyroll Increases Subscription Prices for Fan, Mega Fan and Ultimate Fan Tiers
Here’s how Crunchyroll explains the price increases: they’ll be applied starting with your next bill date after March 4th.
- Fan Tier to increase from $7.99/month to $9.99/month.
- Mega Fan Tier to increase from $11.99/month to $13.99/month.
- Ultimate Fan Tier will increase from $15.99/month to $17.99/month.
For a limited time, you can get the Fan Annual Plan for $66.99 for a year – an alternative option, but still more expensive than before. All subscription levels now include ad-free viewing on all devices, a feature no longer available directly on Crunchyroll, but offered through services like The Crunchyroll Channel on platforms such as Amazon Freevee. These recent changes also include some adjustments to what each subscription tier offers.
The latest Fan Tier update now lets you download content and watch it offline on one device – a feature that wasn’t available before. Crunchyroll also announced that, with the price changes to its plans, they’ll be improving their apps and services soon. These updates will include features like multiple user profiles, a Teen profile option, PIN protection, and better compatibility across different devices.
Should I Watch Anime on Crunchyroll?
Crunchyroll currently has the largest selection of anime you won’t find anywhere else. They offer a huge number of new shows each season, and have exclusive rights to many popular franchises. Often, episodes are released with both the original Japanese audio and an English dub, sometimes even at the same time as their Japanese release (despite a recent slight delay). This gives viewers a lot of options to choose from.
