Crunchyroll’s had a lot of exclusive anime this year, but the one that really caught my attention is a new shonen series that started airing in the summer of 2025. It’s called Gachiakuta, and it’s a pretty dark take on the genre. The first season just wrapped up after 24 amazing episodes, and the best part? A second season is already confirmed! They didn’t stop there, though – they also announced two new projects related to the series. The first one is a stage play, and it’s coming surprisingly soon – May 2026! Hikaru Imamaki will be playing the character Rudo, and the play will first premiere in Tokyo on May 26th, 2026, then move to Kyoto on June 5th, 2026.
Along with a new promotional image for the stage play and more details about it, an action role-playing game based on the series is also being made for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC (through Steam). But the biggest news is that season 2 of the anime has been confirmed! Many consider this to be one of the best anime of 2025, and it’s bringing a unique new approach to the shonen genre. We’ll continue to follow Rudo and the Cleaners’ adventures, beautifully animated by Studio Bones, and fans are eager to see it return soon.

The quick announcement of Gachiakuta season 2, right after season 1 ended, hints that the new season might arrive relatively soon. This likely means Studio Bones is confident in the anime’s potential, which makes sense given the high-quality animation and careful production of the first season. While no official details are available yet, some believe season 2 could premiere as early as winter 2027. Considering the first season came out just over a year after it was announced, and Studio Bones’ reliable production schedule, this timeframe seems plausible.
The first season ended with a big battle between the Raiders and the Cleaners, and Rudo decided to join the Cleaners to get his revenge. The finale also hinted at what’s coming next, especially Rudo and Zanka teaming up to rescue Amo. We’ll also learn more about Rudo’s family history as a Surebec and his possible connection to the Watchmen story, with a new group called the Hell Guard playing a big role. Season 2 of Gachiakuta, available on Crunchyroll, promises to be even more captivating, and thankfully, it’s already been confirmed!
