This is surprising, especially with the recent release of another popular MAPPA film, Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution. Despite not consistently being at the top, the film featuring Denji and the Devil Hunters has proven its staying power.

It seems special “cheer screenings” – events where audiences are encouraged to be loud and enthusiastic – helped boost its popularity. Although these screenings were only held in seven theaters last weekend, they were enough to push the film ahead of the latest Jujutsu Kaisen movie.
