For October, Crunchyroll has revealed an array of fresh Blu-ray releases. These include new discs for series like Frieren, Mushoku Tensei, Spice and Wolf: Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf, and a collector’s steelbook Blu-ray for Robotech. Although Crunchyroll is predominantly known for its streaming platform, it also has a thriving market for physical media where it sells discs of its top-rated anime. Sony, being the owner of Crunchyroll, acquired Right Stuf, an online store specializing in anime merchandise and Blu-rays, back in 2022. Later on, Sony closed down Right Stuf and merged it into the Crunchyroll store instead.
This month (July), Crunchyroll launched Blu-ray versions of well-known anime series like “Solo Leveling” and “That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime”. For October, Crunchyroll’s lineup will offer a blend of timeless and unforgettable anime, along with some fan-preferred titles. Additionally, they plan to reissue numerous classic anime in collector’s edition steelbooks or more budget-friendly bundles. These reissues are set to be Walmart exclusives, so keep an eye on the official Walmart webstore for pre-orders.
Crunchyroll’s October Blu-Ray Releases
In October 2025, Crunchyroll is set to launch complete seasons of “ODDTAXI”, “Spice and Wolf: Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf Season 1”, “Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Season 2 Part 2”, the first season of “Good Bye, Dragon Life”, and “Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End” Season 1 Part 2 in Blu-ray/DVD packages. The series “Spice and Wolf”, “Mushoku Tensei”, and “Frieren” will be available as Limited Editions for fans to buy. A standard Blu-ray for “Frieren” isn’t yet listed on the Crunchyroll webstore, potentially for a later release. Additionally, subtitles-only Blu-rays for “Let This Grieving Soul Return” and “The Most Notorious ‘Talker’ Runs the World’s Greatest Clan” will be available at the end of this month.
The business is planning to relaunch special edition Blu-rays for “HAIKYU!! The Dumpster Battle,” “The Healer Who Was Banished From His Party, Is, in Fact, the Strongest,” and the first three seasons of “Overlord” as steelbook collector’s items on the official Crunchyroll store. Steelbooks are stylish, metal-plated DVD cases that have become sought-after collectibles among enthusiasts of physical media. Besides, Crunchyroll will exclusively launch a steelbook for “Robotech,” while Walmart will sell exclusive bundles for “One Piece” and “My Hero Academia.
In October, three highly popular anime – “Frieren”, “Spice and Wolf”, and “Mushoku Tensei” – will be available on Blu-Ray. The first two, “Frieren” and “Spice and Wolf”, are fantasy-adventure series that follow a group of travelers across the land. “Frieren” takes a more introspective approach, dealing with poignant themes like long life and reconnecting with loved ones, while “Spice and Wolf” offers a more laidback adventure featuring a merchant and a deity, with occasional bursts of intense action. Meanwhile, fans are eagerly anticipating the steelbook re-releases, particularly for “Robotech”, an intriguing anime adaptation from the 80s. Regardless of your preference, October’s release schedule on Crunchyroll promises to be quite impressive.
