The original anime series “Cyberpunk: Edgerunners,” produced by TRIGGER, has risen to be one of the top Netflix series for valid reasons. It’s set in Night City from the game “Cyberpunk 2077” and concluded with a melancholic twist for most characters. However, the main character Lucy survived and is poised for an unexpected return, leaving fans excited. To build anticipation for Lucy’s grand return, Arc System Works and CD Projekt Red have unveiled a fresh glimpse of her love interest, David.
In addition to unveiling a fresh perspective on Lucy, Arc System Works is generating excitement for Anime Expo, which is expected to announce news about the introduction of a Cyberpunk character into Guilty Gear -Strive-. Here’s what the press release stated: “On July 4 at the Los Angeles Convention Center during Anime Expo, Arc System Works and CD PROJEKT RED will jointly host the ‘GUILTY GEAR -STRIVE-: Developer Session’ panel in Petree Hall (3:45 PM – 5:05 PM PT). The panel will focus on integrating Lucy into Guilty Gear -STRIVE- and other behind-the-scenes details. Attendees can expect to hear from Ken Miyauchi, producer of Guilty Gear -STRIVE-, and Satoru Homma, Japan Country Manager and Producer of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners.” You can catch a sneak peek at Lucy in the fighting game below as she prepares to join season four of Guilty Gear’s latest installment.
Where We Left Lucy
In the final episode of “Cyberpunk: Edgerunners”, David and Lucy desperately attempt to secure their freedom, as they were pursued from every direction in the climactic conclusion. Though David gave his all in an effort to vanquish Atom Smasher, it was to no avail; however, this allowed Lucy to slip away. Grateful for David’s selfless act, she manages to reach her goal of going to the moon and vows never to forget the events that unfolded. As of now, “Cyberpunk: Edgerunners” has yet to announce a follow-up series, but this year’s Anime Expo could potentially alter that.
It appears that “Guilty Ggear -Strive-” could offer an ideal setting for the main character of “Edgerunners” to reappear. The fighting game seems to feature fighters who appear to have been plucked straight from an anime series, making it intriguing to discover how Lucy might connect with the world of “Guilty Gear”. Since the game does have a narrative that brings its characters together, it will be fascinating to uncover how Lucy becomes involved in the Guilty Gear universe.
Man, I tell you, when “Cyberpunk: Edgerunners” dropped on Netflix, it sent shockwaves through the gaming world! The captivating storyline and stunning animation instantly became a sensation, and it even influenced the development of “Cyberpunk 2077”.
CD Projekt Red cleverly incorporated aspects from David and Lucy’s lives into the game, breathing fresh life into Night City. This revamp seemed to draw in legions of new gamers, making “Cyberpunk 2077” an even bigger hit than before! Here’s hoping we’ll get another chance to explore that high-tech future someday!
