Cynthia Rowley’s Daughter Kit Keenan Walks in Her NFYW Show

Kit Keenan is ready to strut.

The model made her New York Fashion Week debut walking in a show by her mother, designer Cynthia Rowley, on September 13th.

The 26-year-old model showcased a little black dress adorned with diamond rings on the runway. She playfully suggested her mother might have had a hidden reason for choosing the outfit.

She playfully told *Elle* in an Instagram video posted on September 14th that she believed her mom chose the dress she was wearing to send a message to her boyfriend, joking that it was completely covered in engagement ring designs.

Cynthia, who shares her daughter Kit with her ex, William Keenan Jr., and has another daughter, Gigi Powers, age 20, with her husband William Powers, was delighted her daughter could attend fashion week with her. This was especially exciting since Kit is already familiar with New York Fashion Week.

The designer was thrilled, saying she didn’t need to give the model any direction. Apparently, the model has been attending fashion shows-even before she was born! She’s grown up around them, really learning the ropes, and she absolutely nailed it. The designer kept repeating, ‘You were amazing!’

Kit appreciated her mom’s support, but she was still really nervous.

But the Bachelor alum overcame her nerves as she made her way down the runway.

After the fashion show, Kit posted a heartfelt tribute to her mother on Instagram on September 15th. She shared a video of them together from the end of the show, writing that the greatest gift her mom ever gave her was witnessing her mom pursue her own dreams.

She added in the caption, “I’m the luckiest girl in the world because of you @cynthiarowley.”

Growing up with a fashion designer mother exposed Kit to the fashion world from a young age, but that wasn’t the sole reason she chose to become a model and influencer.

She explained in a 2023 interview with TopMob News, alongside her mother, that many of her friends come from backgrounds without connections to the fashion industry, yet still pursue similar paths. However, she believes her upbringing uniquely prepared her to succeed on social media.

However, Kit recognizes that her mother’s success definitely helped her own career.

She admitted that even though she isn’t a designer or directly involved in her mother’s business, she still considers herself a ‘nepo baby’ because she’s unsure if she’d have the same success as an influencer without her mother’s help.

But Cynthia wasn’t so sure that she was the reason for her daughter’s success.

You know, someone recently told me something I already deeply believed about Kit. They said he’s always been incredibly self-assured and driven, always forging his own way. It really struck me as true – he navigates the creative world completely on his own terms, and always has.
