D4vd’s Manager Addresses Celeste Rivas Hernandez Death Investigation

D4vd’s manager is addressing the controversy.

Josh Marshall has addressed the ongoing investigation into the death of Celeste Rivas Hernandez, whose body was discovered in a Tesla owned by D4vd (whose legal name is David Anthony Burke). He is also clarifying rumors, specifically one claiming he received an email in 2024 from Hernandez’s family reporting her as missing.

It’s been a difficult period for my family, especially as I’m a father of three,” Marshall, known online as JMogul, explained in a comment responding to the rumors. He later confirmed to LA Mag that he was the author of the posts. “I didn’t receive any emails, I had no idea anything was happening, and I don’t live in California.”

I also work remotely almost all the time, and my role doesn’t involve much direct contact with clients-including David-since others handle his day-to-day needs, not me. This is a truly tragic event for everyone affected, especially her family. I hope investigators are able to determine what happened quickly.”

Acknowledging that much of the information was based on speculation and unconfirmed reports, Marshall finished by saying, “Right now, I’m focusing on supporting my family as we cope with the emotional impact of this tragic news.”

TopMob News has reached out to Marshall for comment but has not yet heard back.

The investigation into the teen’s death, however, remains ongoing.

Police stated that the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner is still investigating how and why Ms. Rivas Hernandez died. Therefore, it’s currently unknown if any crime occurred other than hiding her body. Further investigation is needed to determine if anyone is criminally responsible.

A representative for D4vd-who cancelled his tour after learning about the situation-told NBC News that the “Romantic Homicide” singer “has been informed” of the case and is “fully cooperating with authorities,” but has not made any further public statements.

The music manager’s statements follow the release of further details regarding the condition of Rivas Hernandez’s body when it was discovered, following her disappearance in April 2024.

As a lifestyle expert, I’ve been following this heartbreaking case closely. According to NBC News, authorities now believe this 15-year-old girl may have passed away weeks before her body was found on September 8th. This means she was likely only 14 years old at the time of her death – a truly tragic detail, especially considering her body was discovered just one day after what would have been her 15th birthday. It’s a devastating situation, and my heart goes out to everyone affected. It’s a reminder to cherish every moment.

According to police, the car had been sitting where it was towed from for weeks, suggesting that Ms. Rivas Hernandez may have been dead for several weeks before her body was found.

D4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, was born in Queens, New York, and later relocated to Houston, Texas, at the age of 13.

I’ve been following D4vd since the beginning! He actually started out as a streamer, trying to build a following on YouTube by playing games like Fortnite. But in 2021, he hit a snag – copyright issues with the music he was using in his videos. That’s when he turned to his mom for help. It was a tough spot, but it really shows how resourceful he is. I remember reading about it at the time and being impressed with how he handled it. It’s amazing to see how far he’s come since then!

He explained to Benny Blanco in a September 2024 interview for Hero magazine that he felt desperate enough to complain to his mother. “I basically told her I was struggling and not earning any money,” he said. “She was on the phone and told me to just create my own music and leave her alone.” He then realized, “Wait a second, maybe I *can* do that.”

After that, even though he hadn’t played any instruments or formally studied music – he just enjoyed singing – D4vd started creating songs using an app on his phone. It didn’t take long for some of his tracks to become popular online, and as more of his original music gained traction on TikTok, his music career really began to flourish. He quickly gained a following and started to see success.

The artist, who was 20 years old, finally put out his first album, Withered, in April 2025. He quickly followed this up with his very first tour around the world.

On September 8th, the Los Angeles Police Department responded to a tow yard in Hollywood after receiving reports of a bad smell coming from a car, according to law enforcement sources who spoke with NBC News.

As a longtime follower, I was shocked to learn that the LAPD discovered human remains inside the front trunk of a Tesla. What’s even more unsettling is that the car was registered in Hempstead, Texas, to David Anthony Burke – that’s D4vd’s real name. It’s just a truly heartbreaking and disturbing situation.

According to police, the car was taken to the impound lot because it was left abandoned in the Hollywood Hills.

On September 16, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office announced that the remains discovered in a Tesla belonged to Celeste Rivas Hernandez, a 15-year-old who had been missing since April 5, 2024. She was 13 years old when she was last seen.

According to records from the Medical Examiner’s Office reviewed by TopMob News on September 17th, a final cause of death hadn’t been determined. While the date of death was officially recorded as September 8th-the day her body was found-officials stated her body seemed to have been in the car for a significant amount of time before being discovered and was “severely decomposed.”

After Rivas Hernandez’s body was found, a representative for D4vd told NBC News that the singer “has been told about the situation, and while he’s currently on tour, he’s working with the police.”

Since then, D4vd canceled the remainder of his U.S. dates.
