Carrie Ann Inaba is defending herself after falling low on the fans’ leaderboard.
A judge on *Dancing With the Stars* recently posted about the show’s emotional Dedication Night. While she loved the October 14th episode, she also responded to criticism of how she scored the performances.
One fan commented on her October 15th Instagram post, saying, “You rated Robert Irwin an 8, even though he did better than Dylan Efron, and I love Dylan!”
Carrie Ann, a judge on the show since it began in 2005, told viewers that it’s perfectly fine if they don’t always agree with her scores.
The host, 57, responded by saying it’s perfectly fine for viewers to have different opinions – that’s what makes the show so good! They encouraged viewers to vote for the contestants they like and value, and thanked the user for sharing their passionate and thoughtful feedback.
Following the show, Carrie Ann received criticism not only online but also from the live audience. She was booed after giving a lukewarm reaction to a dance performed by Danielle Fishel and her partner Pasha Pashkov, which notably included a special appearance by Danielle’s 98-year-old *Boy Meets World* co-star, William Daniels – best known as the iconic Mr. Feeny.
Carrie Ann admitted she enjoys seeing classic moves, but she’s noticed some of the performances are becoming repetitive. She feels like she’s seen the same routines too many times.

Despite the audience’s negative reaction, she continued critiquing the dance, saying, “You need to add more variation in how loud and soft you dance. This applies to you too, Pasha.”
And as for Pasha, he quickly responded to Carrie Ann’s comments, calling them “unfair.”
He explained to Variety in an interview published on October 15th that the dances appeared alike, especially since she had pointed that out. He added that they’d performed a quickstep and a jive that week, noting that these two dances are quite similar to each other.
I’d be okay with it if the dances felt similar even if they looked very different,” she explained. “But given the actual dances we performed, it just didn’t feel right to me – that’s how I truly felt.
Pasha came to Danielle’s defense, saying she’s been diligently improving her dancing and didn’t deserve the criticism she received.
Luckily for fans and Carrie Ann, Dedication Night didn’t see any favorites go home.
At the end of the show, cohost Jullianne Hough announced that no one would be eliminated that night. She explained that all the judges’ scores and viewer votes would be added to the scores from next week’s show.
As the dancers prepare to take the stage and impress both with their incredible moves and the judges on *Wicked* night, here’s a look at the couples competing on season 34 of *Dancing With the Stars*…
