Dancing With the Stars Reveals Elimination Twist on Dedication Night

Being eliminated from Dancing With the Stars would have hit close to home for any of the contestants.

For the first time ever on ABC’s *Dancing with the Stars*, the cast dedicated performances to people they love—with those loved ones watching live in the audience—during the October 14th episode. The show then surprised everyone during the elimination announcement, following emotional tributes to parents, partners, and friends.

Host Alfonso Ribeiro announced the good news: “Everyone is safe tonight! No one will be eliminated.”

As Julianne Hough, one of the show’s hosts, explained, the judges decided not to eliminate anyone tonight because it was a special occasion. Instead, all the scores and votes from this week will be added to the totals next week.

And Elaine Hendrix was especially happy to be moving forward.

She said it meant the world to her. This was a fresh start, a dream realized, and she couldn’t be more thankful.

Besides Elaine, the remaining celebrities competing on *Dancing With the Stars* are Jordan Chiles, Alix Earle, Robert Irwin, Whitney Leavitt, Danielle Fisher, Dylan Efron, Jennifer Affleck, Scott Hoying, and Andy Richter.

Hilaria Baldwin recently shared how much her family meant to her while she competed on a dance show. She and her partner, Gleb Savchenko, were eliminated last week, and she spoke emotionally about the support she received.

After filming an episode, I was talking to my daughter about the possibility of being voted off quickly, because I try to be very open with my kids. I have eight children – Carmen, 12, Rafael, 10, Leonardo, 9, Romeo, 7, Eduardo, 5, María Lucía, 4, and Ilaria, 3 – with my husband, Alec Baldwin. I started to get emotional, and she told me, ‘Mommy, at least you tried.’

Hilaria continued, “And I hope they always know that: At least I tried.”

Alec Baldwin publicly shared his love and admiration for his wife, Hilaria, on social media. In an October 9th Instagram post, he wrote, “I love you, Hilaria, and I’m so proud of you.” He continued, expressing how much the family enjoys supporting her, just as she supports them daily, and called achieving this goal a dream come true for her.

The yoga instructor later floated her own theory about why she was voted off Dancing With the Stars.

Hilaria acknowledged the online harassment she’d been experiencing in an October 13th Instagram video, saying it was important to address the issue. She explained that people had been bullying her for several weeks.

People often tell me they’re surprised by the negativity I get, especially after meeting me in person. It really hurts because those comments aren’t true, and I’m not the person some people portray me to be.

The yoga instructor has since floated a theory about why she was voted off Dancing With the Stars.

She confirmed in an October 12th Instagram Live that she left the show due to online bullying. “I definitely got bullied off the show,” she stated. “That’s for sure.”
