Jan Ravnik and Jen Affleck weren’t able to continue on the dance competition after being eliminated this week.
That’s why they were the sixth couple voted off of Dancing With the Stars during its 34th season on Halloween night.
Jen shared how much the experience meant to her after hearing the news of their departure. Speaking with hosts Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough, she said it was something she wanted to be able to share with her children one day, and that she was incredibly thankful for having been a part of it. She explained she participated in the experience for her kids.
Jan’s partner has been receiving some criticism lately from professional dancers Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd, but he simply said of her, “She’s a rockstar.”
On the October 28th show, the couple performed a Contemporary dance to Taylor Swift’s “Look What You Made Me Do.” The performance fit the spooky vibe of the show and paid tribute to Jan’s experience as a backup dancer on Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour.
The judges – Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli, Derek Hough, and Cheryl Burke, a former Dancing with the Stars pro and two-time champion – gave them a combined score of 34 points. Adding bonus points earned during the Dance Monster-thon, they landed in seventh place.
Andy Richter and Emma Slater, along with Elaine Hendrix and Alan Bersten, were also in the bottom three. Because actress Elaine Hendrix was hospitalized earlier that day, only their rehearsal footage was shown.
The celebrities still competing are Andy, Elaine, Alix Earle, Robert Irwin, Danielle Fishel, Jordan Chiles, Dylan Efron, and Whitney Leavitt.

Okay, so watching them dance is AMAZING, but honestly, even when they’re getting critiqued, you can tell the celebs get it. They know the judges aren’t trying to be mean, they’re just doing what they have to do – judging! It’s like, they’re putting everything out there, and the judges are just… judging. It’s all part of the show, and I totally respect everyone involved!
After the October 21st episode, Pasha Pashkov, Danielle’s partner, admitted he might be seeing things through rose-colored glasses due to being involved in the competition. However, he emphasized how difficult it is to be a judge. He explained that offering an opinion online is simple, but actually making a decision with millions watching – and potentially facing criticism for it – is incredibly challenging.

Even though the professional dancers and celebrities are giving their all during the competition, they recognize the judges are simply doing what they’re supposed to do.
After the October 21st episode, Pasha Pashkov, Danielle’s partner, admitted he might be seeing things through rose-colored glasses because he’s involved in the competition. However, he believes judging is the most difficult part of the show. He explained that offering opinions casually is easy, but having to make tough decisions on live television, knowing millions are watching and potentially disagreeing, is incredibly challenging.
