The anime *Dandadan* quickly became popular, blending aliens and the supernatural into a wild and exciting story. Now that the second season has finished – bringing the total number of episodes to twenty-four – the studio, Science SARU, has announced more is on the way for the characters Momo and Okarun. The good news is that the anime, based on Yukinobu Tatsu’s original work, will continue, and fans won’t have to say goodbye anytime soon.
Great news for fans of *Dandadan* – a third season is officially happening! The team shared a new illustration featuring Momo, Okarun, and Turbo Granny to celebrate. While we don’t have a release date yet, it shouldn’t be too long before we see the characters return. The second season ended with a thrilling finale, throwing the cast into a battle with a massive monster, proving the show can take the story in any direction and introduce all kinds of creatures.

The second season of *Dandadan* followed Momo and Okarun as they learned to control their powers, while also introducing new characters to help them. A key plotline, the “Evil Eye Arc,” involved Jiji gaining the power of the Evil Eye, which gave him incredible abilities but also allowed a dangerous spirit to possess him. Fortunately, Okarun became stronger, managing to hold the spirit back despite the chaos caused by the Evil Eye. Jiji wasn’t the only new face making an impact on Momo and Okarun this season.
The second season of the anime ended with the introduction of Kinta Sakata, a funny character who’s more focused on romance than battling monsters. Despite his unusual priorities, Kinta has become a valuable member of the team, and he’s expected to return in season three. Plus, you don’t have to wait for the show to follow these quirky heroes – their adventures are available elsewhere too!
The manga *Dandadan* is still being published in Weekly Shonen Jump, having started in 2021 and continuing with new chapters regularly. With popular series like *Jujutsu Kaisen* and *My Hero Academia* finishing up, *Dandadan* has become one of the magazine’s most popular titles, boosted by the success of its anime adaptation. Fortunately, there’s still time to read the manga before the third season of the anime arrives.
