In the Summer of 2025, the second season of the anime series “Dandadan” was released. In the advertisement for a fresh variety of Fanta drinks, Turbo Granny steps in as a temporary teacher at Fanta School. As you might have imagined, the outcome is quite chaotic. What’s more surprising, however, is that the live-action portrayal of Turbo Granny turns out to be surprisingly well-done, giving fans some optimism if the series Dandadan ever gets a live-action remake.

Dandadan Season 2 Is Already a Hit

I’ve been keeping an eye on things, and let me tell you, the second season of Dandadan started on July 3rd! So far, we’ve got three episodes available to stream, which means we’re a fourth of the way through this new season. Now, some might find it a bit frustrating, but just like the first season, this one is running for a total of 12 episodes. When Dandadan Season 2 was released, it skyrocketed up Netflix’s streaming charts. The very first episode managed to rack up an impressive 4.5 million hours watched in its initial week. As I speak, it ranks as the 7th most popular series on the global Netflix chart. Quite a feat, if you ask me!

Dandadan is derived from the original manga penned by Yukinobu Tatsu. This series was first published in Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ back in April 2021. Currently, it spans across 20 volumes and continues to unfold.

Prior to the debut of Season 2, a compilation movie titled “Dandadan: Evil Eye” was released a month ahead in theaters, encompassing the initial three episodes as a recap. Consequently, some fans had been privy to upcoming events for the past three weeks. Yet, now, all fans find themselves in the same position, as “Dandadan” is progressing beyond the “Evil Eye” storyline, heading towards Episode 4.
