Dandadan Season 2 Debuts the Series’ Most Underrated Character

Following the phenomenal success of its premiere during Fall 2024, the second season of Dandadan is set to premiere as part of the Summer 2025 lineup. Immediately after wrapping up the first season, it was announced that a sequel would follow, picking up where the intense cliffhanger in the finale left off. To generate excitement for the upcoming season, GKIDS released a special Season 2 movie worldwide, showcasing the first three episodes on the big screen. One of the most captivating story arcs in the series, “The Cursed House Arc,” follows Momo, Okarun, and Jiji as they explore a small town to uncover the secrets hidden within the eerie house where Jiji once resided.

Since Jiji and Okaru discovered the secret room in their house, things have significantly escalated. A significant conflict is imminent as the group learns about the Kito family’s true motives – they’ve been masquerading as town benefactors while sacrificing innocent people for over two centuries. The popular opening theme, “On The Way” by AiNA THE END, has caused a stir among fans, and we can’t overlook the captivating ending theme, “Doukashiteru” by WurtS. Interestingly, Kinta Sakata is introduced in the finale, hinting at his appearance later this season.

Dandadan Season 2 Shares First Glimpse of Kinta Sakata

In my excitement for the upcoming season, I can’t help but reflect on the captivating ending theme that brings together all our beloved characters, with the exception of the intriguing newcomer, Kinta Sakata. He makes his grand entrance in Chapter 64 of the manga, during the thrilling Kaiju Arc. The second season is set to conclude the gripping Cursed House Arc first, followed by the adaption of the Evil Eye Arc. This arc delves into the repercussions of the intense battle against the Kito family and an enigmatic force.

The narrative will then revolve around Jiji’s struggles following his possession, as hinted in the trailer. Once the focus shifts from Jiji, the Kaiji Arc will introduce a host of fresh faces. Among them is Kinta, a student at Kami High, who finds himself drawn to the mystery surrounding Okarun’s allure to Momo and Aira.

Later on, he accidentally stumbles into a discussion about the search for Okarun’s kintama, causing quite a few embarrassing mix-ups due to his inappropriate choice of words. This initial encounter with them is far from pleasant, yet amusing. But as time passes, he learns about Yokai and alien creatures, discovering that Momo and her group frequently engage in battles against these beings. Unexpectedly, he ends up becoming a valuable ally, one of great significance.
