The anime series Dandadan has quickly become incredibly popular, so it was expected that it would be renewed for a third season. As 2026 approaches, the creators have given fans a special, and surprisingly unsettling, gift to end 2025. While the series features many scary creatures and aliens, the return of the particularly frightening Serpo aliens is sure to send chills down viewers’ spines.
In the anime Dandadan, the Serpo aliens pose a significant danger to Okarun and Momo, initially kidnapping Momo which unexpectedly awakened her psychic powers. Though defeated early on, these unsettling aliens reappear as a threat later in the first season, but haven’t been seen in the most recent season. If the anime stays true to the original manga, fans can anticipate the Serpos returning in future installments. Dandadan’s 2026 Absence
Good news for fans of Dandadan: a third season is confirmed! However, don’t expect it to arrive in 2024. The animation studio, Science SARU, has announced the new season will premiere in 2027, allowing them ample time to create the next chapter of this unique story. When it does return, the anime will tackle one of the most significant arcs from the manga. This might be unexpected, considering the recent mech battle against a giant monster that concluded season two.
Season three of Dandadan will heavily feature the “Space Globalists Arc,” introducing a dangerous new alien threat. The arrival of the character Bamora at the end of season two sets the stage for Momo and Okarun to face challenges they didn’t expect. As the heroes continue to grow their team and unlock new abilities, season three promises even more intense action and power-ups, continuing the show’s trend of escalating excitement.
Anime fans can look forward to seeing popular characters reimagined as horses in 2026! Because 2026 is the Year of the Horse in the Chinese Zodiac, major anime series are expected to give their characters horse-themed makeovers. While the mysterious Serpo aliens won’t be part of this equine trend, they’ll also be celebrating the new year.
