
I was so excited to hear that Wasabi Mizuta, who’s been the voice of Doraemon for years – ever since the 2005 series! – is going to be voicing Monokuma in the new Danganronpa 2×2 game. Spike Chunsoft just announced it, and I think it’s a really cool casting choice!
Monokuma is a central character in the Danganronpa series. He was originally voiced by Nobuyo Oyama, who also famously played Doraemon for over 25 years. After Oyama’s run ended in 2016, Tarako took on the role until her death in 2024.
With the announcement, Spike Chunsoft also shared a video introducing the actor who will now voice Monokuma, Mizuta.
Danganronpa 2×2 will be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and PC (through Steam) in 2026.
